Ouch! I Feel The Burn

Freckles add character! They are also really good at making me appear to be tan or to hide a small breakout (redhead beauty tip #1). My body is covered in them. It's as if my body is becoming one human size freckle-guess I have a lot of character.

Unfortunate today, I decided to spent 7 hours in the sun and, of course, I didn't have sunblock on. So I'm burnt, naturally sporting a bikini in the buff. Normally when I'm in the sun, I don't tan or burn, I just freckle.

Did you know?
  • That lighter skin pigmentation prevents rickets (a disease that affects the developing skeletal system of children and young animals) in colder latitudes.
  • That lighter skin pigmentation retains heat better than someone with darker skin.
  • An advantage of lighter skin in high latitudes is that the body absorbs more sun which leads to increased production of vitamin D (necessary for calcium absorption and bone growth).
